If we want to be good grief supporters, it’s important to develop strategies for staying present in the face of suffering.

You are encouraged to find a “go-to” strategy for staying present.

You can develop a whole tool kit, but find one that you know you can count on. Here are some examples:

Take three, deep, intentional breaths

Plant your feet on the ground

Have a stone or other grounding object you can hold/touch to remind you to come back to the present moment
