A Journey to Travel with Heart…

Loss, grief and bereavement are major factors in most people’s lives as they age. But in general, most of us aren’t really educated about GRIEF.

Even though loss is a common, human experience,  the experience of grief can feel as if you have been parachuted into a landscape with no compass or maps and where a language is spoken that is foreign to you.

These resources were created to prepare those who volunteer or work with seniors who are experiencing loss or who are grieving. By giving you some information and tools to help better navigate this often confusing and unpredictable journey, we hope that both you and the people you companion will be better supported…especially when the road ahead is unclear.

These resources are intended for peer support volunteers and staff, and folks who work in community service agencies, health, and other social service settings. They are also provided to support those who are working in assisted living and long-term residential care facilities.  Basically, anywhere you may encounter a grieving senior.

Some of this material may be a refresher, and some may be new.

Some of the material will apply to adult grievers of all ages.
