Every December, we gather for our annual Trees of Light Ceremony — a warm and magical evening that brings our community together to remember and honour those we have lost.  This year, we’re thrilled to partner with the Centre for Grief and Healing (BFO–Halton Peel) to make this cherished tradition even more meaningful and accessible to our broader grief community.

The evening will be filled with performances of poetry and music, creating a space to reflect, connect, and commemorate the lives of our loved ones. We will conclude with the lighting of the trees, a highlight of the ceremony, followed by light refreshments and the opportunity to connect with each other.

Once again, we are offering personalized silver tags with the name of your loved one for $35 each or $100 for three, and gold tags for $100 each. Tag sales close on Monday, December 1 at 12 PM, limited blank tags will be available at the event and can be personalized on site (hand written- not printed). Each tag purchased will be placed on the trees at City Hall and remain there throughout the display into the new year (January 5th). You’ll also receive a second tag to take home as a keepsake. Any unclaimed tags will be mailed out after the event (or once the Canada Post strike is resolved). We want everyone to feel welcome at Trees of Light. If cost is a barrier, please don’t hesitate to contact us at jsmart@bfotoronto.ca—we’re committed to making sure everyone can participate.
