Every year in December, we hold our annual Trees of Light Ceremony, a warm and magical event designed to bring our community together to remember those we have lost.
The evening is full of poetry, music, and dance. The lighting of the trees closes the ceremony followed with refreshments. We hope you will stay afterwards to connect with friends, new and old.
This year we are again offering silver tags personalized with the name of your loved one, for a suggested donation of $35 each or $100 for 3 tags. Gold tags personalized with the name of your loved one are also available for $100 each.
The tags you purchase will be placed on the trees during our event and will remain there for the duration of the tree setup at City Hall. In addition to this, a second tag bearing the name of your loved one will be printed for you to pick up at the event and take home. Tags that aren’t picked up will be mailed out.
Those unable to attend the event in person can collect their tag on Thursday, December 14th at our offices (355 Church Street). This way, you can participate and have a cherished memento to honour your loved ones, even if you can’t join us on the event day.
We’re excited to have everyone participate in this event, and we want to make sure that the cost of tags doesn’t hold anyone back.
